1,200 trees planted around the world
In November, we planted 1,000 trees as part of our Giving Back program in partnership with One Tree Planted. Our teams around the globe supported their mission to help individuals and businesses restore the environment, fight climate change, protect biodiversity, and aid reforestation.
Through our donation, we contributed to planting 1,000 trees in diverse locations globally, including the US, Vietnam, and Rwanda. We thank our teams for being part of the green fight and making the world better for all of us.
In addition, our Giving Back Crew in Bulgaria took part in the “Gorata.bg” initiative and planted 200 pine trees to celebrate our policy of health for our environment. We’re proud of our volunteers in Bulgaria who helped fight deforestation and improved the local environment.
Why it matters?
Here’re a few statistics to consider:
- 46% of the world’s forests are already destroyed. Deforestation can come in many forms, including fires, clear-cutting for agriculture, and degradation due to climate change, among others.
- 1.6 billion people rely on forests for their livelihoods.
- 80% of the world’s terrestrial plants and animals live in forests and are losing their habitats to deforestation.
- Healthy forests help absorb greenhouse gases and carbon emissions.
